1. Place Your Order

Purchase the appropriate 991.1 Xenon Headlight Blackout Service.

2. Ship Your Headlights to BavGruppe

Carefully package and send us your original Porsche headlight assemblies.

3. We Disassemble & Black Out the Headlights

The assemblies are opened and the appropriate factory silver internal trim is prepared and refinished in black.

4. Reassembly & Resealing

Once the blackout process is complete, the headlights are professionally reassembled and resealed.

5. Reinstall & Enjoy

Reinstall your original headlights and enjoy a completely different front-end appearance.

Since your headlights are already being opened, it’s also an excellent opportunity to address aging outer lenses or add additional customization.

Depending on your headlights and desired build, available options may include:

Are these replacement headlights?

No. This is a blackout modification service performed on your existing factory Porsche headlights.

What gets blacked out?

The appropriate silver internal trim components are refinished in black to create the darker appearance shown in our finished builds.

Does the blackout change the shape/overall appearance of my headlights?

No. That’s one of the biggest advantages of this modification.

You’re retaining the iconic shape and overall design of the original Porsche 991.1 headlights — we’re simply changing the appearance of the internal trim.

Will they look aftermarket?

Our objective is exactly the opposite.

We specialize in an OEM+ appearance that looks appropriate on the Porsche rather than looking like an aftermarket replacement assembly.

Can you replace my outer lenses at the same time?

Yes. If your lenses are hazy, scratched, crazed or showing their age, replacing them while the headlights are already being opened can make a tremendous difference in the finished appearance.

Fresh clear lenses + blacked-out internals is an especially dramatic combination.

Is this service for PDLS headlights?

This particular service is intended for the compatible 991.1 Xenon headlight configuration, with or without PDLS. 

Do I have to ship my headlights to you?

Yes. This is a mail-in modification service performed on your original headlight assemblies unless you’ve made other arrangements with BavGruppe.
