LUCKY YOU: The E46s with OEM ZKW Bi-Xenon headlights are notorious for basically self-destructing due to a very cheap plastic used for the projector bowl. Fortunately, the Morimoto Retro-Quik system is designed as a bolt-on upgrade for a big performance boost inside the headlights on all E46s with OEM ZKW Bi-Xenon headlights.

FOR ZKW BI-XENON HEADLIGHTS ONLY!: This kit is designed solely for the OEM ZKW Bi-Xenon headlights. Have OEM Bosch Low Beam HIDs? Consider the Bosch Retro-Quik instead. Still have OEM halogen headlights? Check out the Mini H1 kit instead.

PROJECTOR-PERFECTION: There are other projectors that produce brighter hot spots. There are other projectors that have unholy amounts of width. But no other option creates the perfect balance of width & hotspot lux (aka distance) quite like the 5.0. In order to create the ultimate weapon for driving in the dark; Morimoto baked in all of the best practices from a variety of well-respected OEM and aftermarket projectors. Their latest and greatest equates to the perfect all-around performer. While its big boost in the performance department, it’s also clear they’ve paid attention to the details in the parts department too. New bulb holders & lock rings are icing on our projector pie!

MOUNTING HARDWARE: 100% Engineered in the US. Laser cut from G10 fiberglass plate. The Retro-Quik brackets at the heart of the kit are designed to adapt the Morimoto Mini D2S 5.0 projectors directly in place of the burned stock units. Using the original mounting holes paired with new hardware, they are the beauty behind the kit that makes it an easy install. Some trimming is required here, so just a heads up to plan accordingly.

OPTIONAL D2S HID BULBS: Homegrown by Morimoto to out-perform any alternatives on the market when installed in projector-based headlight–and it shows. We admit the latest generation XB HID bulbs are pretty impressive when compared to other bulbs, and even older Morimoto bulbs. At the heart of the XB bulbs is their perfectly aligned 100% Philips quartz glass capsule that houses high-quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer. In our annual lux comparison test, they produced nearly the same luminosity (intensity) as the industry benchmark Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you’re not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night.

OPTIONAL HIGH BEAM SPLITTERS: Double high beams?! whaaaat! Since these cars have a pre-existing halogen high beam and the new projectors in the Retro-Quik system have their own bi-xenon high beams, you’ll have no problem lighting up the back roads. Put simply, the optional Morimoto high beam splitters allow you to make this feature work easily without any cutting or splicing to the factory wiring by diverting power from the halogen bulb into the projector’s high beam solenoid, making them both work at the same time.
