The F06 tail lights are plug-and-play and require no coding. You will marvel at the starting light-up sequence and the bright white LED backup lights. Smoked or OEM Red Finish with Amber or OEM Red Turn Signals

Choose from “Smoked” or “OEM Red”. This set of 6 series (Fitment: 640i 650i 640d 650i M6 F06/F12/F13) OLED GTS Tails come with a one year factory warranty, and feature an amber turn signal. The tails carry the “E” Mark certification for European clients, effective 5/15/24.

Note: We revised the last version of the tails effective April 2024 production, to eliminate sequential to ensure the tails have enhanced longevity and to mimic the function of the OEM GTS Tails.

Enhanced functionality: The newest version of our tails include an adapter plug that enables you to switch the turn signal color from Amber to OEM Red. If the plugs are NOT attached (See photo of the plugs), then the signals will default to amber: If they are plugged in, the turn signals will be OEM Red.

These are direct plug and play in 99% of cars. HOWEVER, some coding may be required due to sensitive onboard computers on some vehicles. Coding involves removing bulb checks and turning off monitoring for turn signals, or reverse lights, all of which use LED’s instead of bulbs (oem tails use standard halogen bulbs). This can easily done in 5 minutes with a local coder or with Carly or Bimmercode (we also offer remote coding services). NOTE: If the cars tail lights had any previous coding (i.e. Brake Force Display), you should revert it to stock as these tail lights were designed to work with a stock car.

If you have an error on your vehicle after installation, please follow Coding recommendations, or the FEM can damage your tails over an extended period of time. Also, be sure to check all connections to ensure they are firm and completely connected.

Note: United States vehicles all have the turn signals coded to turn on when the brakes are depressed. If you want to shut off the turn signals so that they are only in use when using turn signals, then you will need to code them off using Bimmercode or ProTools. Wiring:

The tails will connect directly to the factory loom for all four pieces. There are also two long connector cables included. To install the cables:

1. For the driver side, the outer tail light should be connected to the driver trunk tail light using the supplied cable.

2. For the passenger side, the outer tail light should be connected to the passenger trunk tail light using the supplied cable.

Please make sure the cables are pushed all the way in or you may have a malfunction with the trunk tail lights not illuminating correctly.

Wiring:

We are not responsible for improper installation. Therefore professional installation is highly recommended.

Troubleshooting:

1. If you get errors, check current coding on the car and remove “Brake Force Display” if enabled.

2. Ensure brakes, reverse and all other applicable tail modules are set to “LED”.

3. Remove all Hot/Cold bulb checks.

4. If your inner tail lights are not functioning correctly, first check the connector cabling that’s plugged into it to ensure that no prongs have been broken off on either side, and that they are securely plugged in. If you’re still not getting power, then swap the inner tail from one oem plug to the opposite side (also plug into the opposite side cable connector). This will help isolate whether that inner tail is defective or has a damaged cable or damaged outer tail light connector.

5. If you have any condensation forming inside the tails, be sure to tighten the bolts on the lights a little more to keep condensation out. The condensation is caused by under tightening of the bolts attaching the lights to the body. There is a rubber grommet underneath that needs to be flush with the body or itll let condensation in. Do NOT over tighten the bolts.

Note: For certain European countries (i.e. UK), DRL/parking lights must be activated/coded on for the tails to function properly. E-Mark certification is available for our European customers, add this as a no-cost option at checkout (not required for US customers).
